BL 509 Natural Flush Bird Launcher is rated 5.0 out of 5 by 15.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best launcher I've used I bought two of these launchers to keep an older dog sharp and to start my newest prospect. This launcher shines in two areas. First, it is super reliable! It's advertised to have a range of 700 yards and I've been able to launch birds consistently at 500+. I've used them in the rain, the heat, let them bounce around the bed of the truck and they continue to work. Every. Single. Time Second, they're super quiet. Because of this when the launcher launches a bird, it doesn't distract a younger dog. I've used other launchers that are so loud when activated that the pup hardly notices the bird and instead sticks its head inside the launcher wondering what all the racket is from! I highly recommend this particular launcher to anyone that is on the fence about which launcher to purchase

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Must Have Launcher Reliable and ease of use. These are my two favorite things about this launcher. No matter what weather conditions I'm working in, it always works. This was one of the reasons I chose this particular model after working with someone else's for awhile. I needed something I could rely on to deliver and this exceeds expectations. I also appreciate that it is easy to use. When I'm working with my dogs I want to spend more time working with them as opposed to dealing with equipment. This is easy to set up and easy to clean. I would highly recommend this to any person looking for a reliable, easy to use launcher. Especially if you tend to train alone. This has been invaluable to me and I would buy it again in a heartbeat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Training alone just got easier I have been waiting to pull the trigger on buying one of these. Finally did it. I have other DT products and they are best on market. I'm cheap on a lot of things, this will pay for itself on quality. I know I'll have this unit for years. Researched a lot and found all positive reviews. Will make training alone for hunt test much easier. Thanks DT!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great if you train a dog alone. This is a great training aid for training your bird dog. I works very well if you are training your dog alone. You can keep your focus on your dog and just hit a button to release a bird.

Why is this $279.99 on Bass Pro and $335.99 straight from you?

Asked by: vbnp
Hello, As with most manufacturers we sell our product to the retailers, and then the retailers set their pricing accordingly. BPS has a great price on them and our Bird Launchers are the #1 launchers out there for reliability and dependability.

Asked by: Ariel
Hello, First check to make sure batteries are fresh in BOTH the receiver and transmitter. Also make sure the batteries are inserted properly and not installed backwards. Make sure the remote is programmed to the proper number on the dial indicator on the remote. It comes from the factory programmed to position 1, so make sure the dial is in position 1. Finally make sure the safety latch pin is not in place and is not keeping the arm from releasing. You can also check to make sure the servo arm is properly lined up in the metal slot in the unit, and make sure it is operating freely allowing the unit to open. Hope this helps.

How high can it launch a quail

Asked by: Carl Falconer
Hello, As they are made for launching live birds (quail, chuckar, pigeons) they will launch one on average 6-8 ft into the air. Hope this helps.

I have a BL 509 and have forgotten my code. Please let me know how to marry the transmitter to the launcher. I would appreciate any information that will help me.Ken

Asked by: Ken
Hello, Please see instructions below for programming the transmitter to the launcher. I also attached a link to the BL owner's manual here for your convenience: BL Owner's Manual: https://dtsystems.com/media/wysiwyg/userguides/BL_Manual.pdf PROGRAMMING RECEIVER/TRANSMITTER Programming 1. Verify that the Bird Launcher is off. 2. Choose a number (1-16) on the Launcher Selector Knob of the Transmitter (optional: label the Launcher with the number for easy recognition). 3. Push and hold the red Power Button on the Remote Receiver of the Bird Launcher. Do not release the Power Button. 4. After approximately 6 seconds of holding the Power Button down, the Red LED light will flash 4 times. 5. While continuing to hold the red Power Button down, push either the “BIRD/NICK” button or the “BEEP/CONT” button on the Transmitter for approximately one second. 6. To indicate the unit has been programmed, the LED light on the Remote Receiver will flash 5 times and the Beeper/Locator horn will beep 5 times. 7. After programming confirmation, release the Power Button on the Remote Receiver. NOTE - Do not release the red Power Button until instructed to do so or the entire process will have to be repeated. Repeat the process from the beginning if the light does not blink 5 times and beep 5 times at the end of the programming. Hope this helps.

Can multiple quail be put in either launcher? Thanks

Asked by: Coop8808
Hello, It really depends on the size of the quail. Two very small quail might fit in the 500 series. 3-4 might fit in the 700 series. The 500 series is about half the size of the 700 series. The 500 series is made for "Quail sized birds", and the 700 series for Pheasant/duck. Hope this helps.

What is the difference in the 505 and the 509 remote bird launcher systems and which is the most used and suggested

Asked by: Larry
Hello, The BL 509 is our quail sized bird launcher system. The 509 includes the receiver and the remote/transmitter. The 505 is the "Add-on" unit. It does not include a remote/transmitter as it is meant to add on to an existing remote system. So if you do not currently have a system and a remote, you need to order the BL 509. Then afterwards if you want to add another unit (NOTE: up to 16 total units can be added to one remote/transmitter) you would purchase a BL 505 system. Hope this helps.

Asked by: Robert Rawlings
