R.A.P.T. 1400 Cover Up Camo Remote Training Collar is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 9.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great collar and great customer service! I ordered this in December of 2013 and have been extremely satisfied. In May of 2014, a short developed in the collar and it was sent back under warranty for repair. It was repaired, quickly returned and has been flawless since. The camo finish has begun to show wear that should not discourage you from purchasing this collar. The collar charges quickly and the battery life for both the collar and remote is more than enough. I will definitely buy from DT Systems again based on customer service alone.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Didn't last Not sure what the problem is but I am somewhere around a year with this dog collar and it is already going out. It will not fully charge anymore (no green light) and when we do charge it as much as we can, it will only last an hour or two at best. I have two collars of another brand that are 10-15 years old and still going strong. The only thing is they don't have the vibrate feature so I'm stuck tying another brand until I can find a company that makes one that will last.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very effective! This was my first electric collar I ever bought and I bought it for my 6 month old black lab and it has been great! I wasn't completely convinced until I bought it how effective it would be but it really helps. I love not having to have him on a leash and getting closer to making him a great hunting dog. I like the convenience of the hand strap but most of the time I just use a neck strap, still a cool feature though

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product! I bought one a while ago and used to train my lab rescue. She was already 4 and she took to it great the collar was awesome. Sadly I didn't have it right enough and she somehow got out of it and lost it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great training collar! Bought one of these at the local sporting goods store and haven't been disapointed. Worked great for training and was versatile enough to use in the field. Very pleased

The battery life in the collar seems short. It only lasts about a day is that normal?

Asked by: Charlie
Hello, Depending on the age of the unit, the number of charge cycles, and the daily use patterns the battery life will vary. Also sometimes the charger will go bad for instance if there was a power spike, or something similar and that would affect the charger's ability to fully charge the battery. If you will contact our customer service team directly at customerservice@dtsystems.com and let them know you are having battery/charging issues with your RAPT they will be glad to help you out! Hope this helps.

I have 2 collars over a year old and one of them only stays charged half the time of the other one. I think it is the battery that is the issue. If that is the case where can I get a replacement battery and what is the part number? Thank you!

I have tried to reprogram the collar several times and it will not program. What steps do you do next?

Asked by: Killman
Hello, I have included specific instructions for collar re-programming below as well as a link to the Owner's Manual for reference. PROGRAMMING THE COLLAR When adding an “Add-On” collar, the collar will need to be programmed to the transmitter. If your current collar unit is not responding to the transmitter, it may also need to be reprogrammed to the transmitter. 1. Select the desired Collar Selecting Switch position on the transmitter. 2. Hold the Transmitter Magnet Indicator (white dot) directly against the Magnetic Activation Switch (small bump) on the right side of the Collar Receiver. 3. The SmartLED light inside the Collar Receiver will light up solid for about 1 second, followed by 6 flashes. You must keep the Transmitter next to the Collar Receiver during this time. 4. Continue to hold the Transmitter against the Collar Receiver until the SmartLED light stays on solid. The Collar Receiver is now in the Code Running Mode (the SmartLED light will stay lit for approximately 8 seconds while it is in this mode). 5. Remove the Transmitter from the Collar Receiver and press the Rapid Access and CONT buttons simultaneously while it is in the Code Running Mode. 6. When the SmartLED blinks 3 times, the Collar ID is programmed and the Collar Receiver is now ON. NOTE – Do not move the Transmitter Magnet ON/OFF switch from the Collar Receiver Magnetic Activation Switch until after the SmartLED stops flashing and stays on solid or the Collar Receiver will not go into the Code Running Mode. You must press the NICK and CONT buttons simultaneously while the SmartLED is lit solid. Link to Owner's Manual: https://dtsystems.com/media/wysiwyg/userguides/RAPT_SmartLED_Manual.pdf If this doesn't work, please e-mail our Customer Service team at customerservice@dtsystems.com for assistance and someone will be glad to help out. Hope this helps.

I have had the RAPT 1400 for six months ago. A month ago the hand-held unit stopped communicating with the collar; both units were on but would not communicate. I could not reprogram either. They eventually started working but it happened again. Help?
